Halewood is situated in the south of the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside bordering Liverpool. Halewood u3a was founded in 1996 and is one of the smaller u3as. At present we have 210 members. The University of the Third Age (u3a) is a nationwide organisation but each u3a is operated independently to provide opportunities for members to work in groups to develop their interests and skills. As well as learning opportunities there are outdoor activities and social events. . We are a lively and active group that abides by the principles of the Third age Trust which is to . . . . . .
- To bring together those no longer in full-time employment, to share skills and learn new ones
- To create a social environment where everyone is welcome
- To have a bit of fun in our so-called 'third age' of life!
