Escape Group trip to British Ironworks Centre

25 members set off on a rainy day to explore The British Ironworks Centre near Oswestry. Sadly it remained wet but everyone had a good time exploring the amazing sculptures, shopping and a late lunch on the way home. The highlight was the buggy trip driven by two intrepid explorers who became very good at 3 point turns, getting lost and going round the same roundabout 4 times..both buggys returned home safely. Southport Flower Show

29 members enjoyed a trip to the Southport Flower Show and managed to avoid most of the forecast downpouring of rain. Southport u3a had entered a show garden and won a gold medal. It was interesting to talk to some of them. Anything concerning flowers was there to enjoy in the show gardens, marquees, floral art and numerous nursery retailers, as well as an entertainment arena, a music corner and some alpacas. A good choice of day out. Jill Marquis

STARS gather in the firmament (well Casa Rima actually)

We recently held a gathering of our Volunteers (STARS) for tea and cake, just to say thank you for their efforts. Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and it was also wonderful to see Mal.
